Environmental surveys

Environmental surveys are usually conducted under a legal framework with the goal to acquire data pertaining to the risks that a proposed construction project may pose to sensitive underwater environments.

With the growth in new wind farms in the North and Baltic Sea, and other regions globally, the requirement for environmental survey continues to expand, and while the term remains undefined, Bathymetric survey is a key component of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) required to obtain licenses to build new installations.

Data acquired by GeoSwath 4 in the context of an environmental survey is trusted by commercial and research sector end-users to provide a clear and detailed view of subsea habitats.
