While our divestment from Kongsberg Maritime happened at the end of 2019, the global pandemic meant that it wasn’t until 2022 that we could really start showing the market what we can do as an independent company.
And now we are at the end of our first year without tight Covid restrictions, we’re quite confident that it’s back to business as usual for GeoAcoustics Ltd and the market.
Reflecting this was the positivity we encountered at the various trade shows and industry events around the world. The first stop this year was Remote Hydrography in Dublin followed by Oceanology International in London, which had a strong turnout considering that some countries were still facing pandemic travel restrictions.
Regardless, the atmosphere was buoyant and we continued to enjoy positive conversations and predictions at the other industry events we attended this year. These included GeoHab in Venice, the 2nd Hamburg Marine Survey Sessions, The Marine Measurement Forum, and the Marine Autonomy Technology Showcase in Southampton.
At these events we presented on the development of our brand new Artificial Intelligence-powered data processing solution for GeoSwath 4, which customers are now seeing the benefits of.
We also continued to build our partner network in 2022 and now have representation in more than 70 countries from 50 expert companies. New additions to the partner list in 2022 include Subsea Europe Services in Germany and East Ocean in China.
Aside from the brand new SonarWiz software for Pulsar Side Scan Sonar released in September, 2022 was a quiet year for GeoAcoustics Ltd product launches. We are expecting this to change next year.
Our product development pipeline is under wraps, so for now, please rest assured that by the time Ocean Business comes around in April there will be lots of product news to report!
But before that, we would like to send all our colleagues, customers, partners and industry friends best wishes for the holiday season. Happy new year!
