A christmas graphic with the words 2025 year in review

As 2025 draws to a close, we’re proud to mark five years since GeoAcoustics became an independent company. It’s been a journey shaped by innovation, collaboration, and shared purpose. We’re deeply grateful to our dedicated team, channel partners, end-users, and the wider hydrographic community for their continued support, and we look forward to building on that foundation as we begin a new chapter.

Expanding horizons

December also marked a major development with the opening of our new Canadian subsidiary at the Centre for Ocean Ventures and Entrepreneurship (COVE) in Nova Scotia, Canada. This marks our first international base since becoming an independent company, and is a major step forward in supporting our global community.

COVE is one of Canada’s premier marine tech clusters, and our presence there strengthens our engagement across North America while complementing our UK-based operations. The new site will play a role in preparing for new product launches, with next-generation sonar technologies scheduled for release in 2026.

Out and about

We kicked a busy year of events off with Ocean Business in Southampton, where we launched the GeoScan 2491 and GeoScan 2361 side scan sonars. In August, our channel partner Escort Technology featured the GeoScan 2491 at BALTEXPO in Poland and later in the year, we joined the hydrographic community at HYDRO 2025 in Liverpool, with our UK partner Thurn Group.

Further afield, we had a strong presence at Oceanology International Asia in Shanghai with our systems showcased on the Topsun Marine stand. We also joined MER Marine Technologies at ADIPEC 2025 in Abu Dhabi, engaging with offshore stakeholders on AI-enabled bathymetry and sub-bottom profiling.

Building partnerships

Partnerships remained at the heart of our work in 2025. We were delighted to welcome AlphaGeo UK into the GeoAcoustics Channel Partner Network in December. With expertise in USV and ROV integration, AlphaGeo UK brings added capability to our presence in the UK and Ireland, supporting end-users with modular, low-power sonar systems optimised for remote operations.

We also expanded our presence in Southeast Asia through a new partnership with Oceanscan Singapore, covering Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines in February. Their regional expertise ensures stronger local support for our full sonar portfolio across key offshore and marine markets.

At home in Great Yarmouth

We welcomed Alton Nutile as Head of Finance in January. Alton has over two decades of strategic leadership experience across finance, operations, technology, quality assurance, and risk management, and since joining, he has played a key role in supporting our continued growth.

In April we hosted the THS:UKI East Anglia Branch Evening Meeting, bringing together members of the hydrographic community for technical talks, networking, and a behind-the-scenes tour of our facilities. In October, we opened our doors once again for the East Coast Manufacturing Group event, which was a fantastic chance to connect with fellow innovators and share insights on regional manufacturing and technology development.

Looking ahead

With 2025 behind us, we're already preparing for the next big chapter. We’ll be at Oceanology International in London this March, so make sure to join us on stand P400.

Thank you once again to all our partners, end-users, and supporters around the world. It's your collaboration that drives everything we do. Here's to another great year ahead.
