Rapid Environmental Assessment
Blue light and rescue organisations require fast to deploy, easy to operate, and trustworthy tools to quickly understand the situation and if the situation involves water, imaging sonars are essential.
The Pulsar Side Scan Sonar was originally developed for emergency scenarios. It's lightweight, with a towfish design that is deployable by a single operator, and can quickly return data on targets below the surface even in the toughest of conditions.
Everything from cars to people can be detected, giving first responders the chance to either save lives or start work to make the area safer.
Pulsar enables large areas to be surveyed efficiently, revealing small objects and underwater structures in detail and importantly, it does not need a highly trained technician to operate it. In the volunteer and sporadic nature of emergency and disaster response, this ensures that Pulsar can still provide the data needed when an expert user is not available.
When a rapid environmental assessment is needed, the Pulsar towfish can be in the water within minutes of arrival, and operators will soon get a stream of actionable data:
The software allows users to acquire sonar data with embedded positioning information
Data can be processed, visualised, and interpreted in the software package and easily shared with other agencies
The systems can also be provided with a dedicated version of Chesapeake’s SonarWiz acquisition software.
