GeoAcoustics strengthens environmental credentials with ISO:14001:2015 accreditation

We’re delighted to report that we have recently received ISO14001:2015 accreditation. This is an important milestone on our road to net zero, and confirms our commitment to operating in an environmentally sustainable manner across all aspects of our business.

The scope of the approval is applicable to our sales, development, manufacturing, delivery, service and repair of seabed survey equipment.

“The accreditation reflects the huge amount of hard work by the entire GeoAcoustics team to ensure that we operate with environmental sustainability across all areas of the business,” said Linda Dowdeswell, General Manager, GeoAcoustics Ltd.

ISO14001:2015 is an internationally agreed standard that sets out the requirements for an environmental management system. It focuses on an organisation’s approach to improving performance through all environmental issues relevant to operations, such as air pollution, water and sewage issues, waste management, soil contamination, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and resource use and efficiency.

“We have been focused on reducing our impact on the environment for several years already, with the ultimate goal to decarbonise our HQ completely through initiatives such as the installation of more than 200 solar panels on our roof in 2022, with plans to increase our green energy capacity going forward,” added Linda.

Continual improvement is a key aspect of the ISO14001:2015 standard, and GeoAcoustics was able to demonstrate a number of important projects as part of the process, including the 2022 upgrade of all lights at our HQ to LEDs, which reduced annual energy consumption by 30%, and the installation of electric car charging points for staff to use on site.
