Geological Surveys

Subsea geological surveys acquire data for applications including dredging, drilling, mining and archaeology, and while all have different aims, they also demand the same accurate and actionable data from the hydroacoustic systems deployed.

Alongside laser measurements, satellites and GPS, Sub Bottom Profilers are one of the core technologies used in Geological surveying.

They can provide dependable data on the composition of materials below the seafloor as well as insight into the position and make-up of any buried obstructions that may be a hazard to subsequent engineering works.

A geological survey may also include aspects of bathymetry as a lot of insight can be gained from understanding changes in the landscape and environment.
