GeoAcoustics Ltd delivers innovative, field-proven technologies for customers working in inland waterway and marine hydrographic surveying, dredging and marine-research. With a global presence through our network of channel partners, we specialise in the design, development, manufacture and commissioning of advanced side scan, bathymetry and sub-bottom profiling sonar systems.
GeoAcoustics has provided subsea sensors and equipment for over four decades and continues to develop innovative products, including sonar solutions that can outperform multibeam echo sounders in specific applications and AI systems that unlock IHO S-44 standard marine data in real time.
The role
We are looking for a high-performing Business Development Manager to accelerate growth across our marine survey and inland waterway markets. You will develop new business, manage key accounts, and strengthen our channel partner network translating market needs into commercial opportunities and long-term customer relationships.
Key responsibilities
Develop and deliver a sales/business development plan aligned to company growth targets
Identify, qualify and progress new opportunities across hydrography, dredging and marine research markets
Manage strategic accounts and build strong relationships with decision-makers and technical stakeholders
Grow and support a global channel partner network (enablement, joint planning, performance reviews)
Prepare quotations, proposals and tender responses; lead negotiations through to contract award
Own pipeline management, forecasting and CRM reporting, ensuring accuracy and visibility
Coordinate internally with engineering, production and service teams to ensure solutions meet customer needs
Represent GeoAcoustics at customer meetings, demonstrations, sea trials and industry events/exhibitions
Maintain awareness of competitor activity, pricing trends and market developments.
What we’re looking for
Essential
Proven success in business development / technical sales within marine, hydrographic, subsea, offshore energy or adjacent instrumentation sectors
Strong track record of winning and growing accounts (including complex, consultative sales cycles)
Confidence working with technical products and explaining value to both technical and commercial audiences
Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Strong planning, forecasting and CRM discipline
Full right to work in the UK (or ability to obtain it); willingness to travel regularly
Full UK driving licence (or ability to travel independently as required)
Desirable
Experience selling sonar, hydrographic survey systems, sensors, positioning, marine robotics, or survey services
Experience working with distributors/channel partners internationally
Familiarity with hydrographic standards and customer requirements (e.g., IHO S-44)
Tendering experience with public-sector, port authorities, dredging contractors or offshore operators.
